Borrowing Procedures
Library cards are free of charge to residents of Allegheny County. Children of any age may obtain a card. The signature of a parent is necessary on all applications for a juvenile's card, ages 13 and younger.

Books may be reserved at no charge. There is a limit of fifty books which may be borrowed on one card. All print material and books on CD circulate for 21 days. Renewals are permitted on all items that do not have additional requests.
Magazines are limited to 50 per card and may be borrowed
for 21 days. The most current issue of each magazine title does not
circulate.
E-Books can be borrowed off of the Overdrive website. There is a limit of 10 e-Books which may be borrowed on one card. The patron has the option of circulating the e-Book for 7, 14, or 21 days. Once the circulation period has ended, the e-Book will "expire" and become available to be checked out again. There are no renewals on e-Books!
DVDs, Blu-Ray movies, Videogames, and Music CDs are limited to 5 per card and circulate for seven days.
Children's specialty items such as puppet bags and concept kits circulate for 7 days.
ACCESS PA: Statewide Borrowing Card
Residents from outside of Allegheny County may borrow materials by presenting
their home library card with the blue ACCESS PA sticker. Residents of Allegheny
County may borrow materials from other Access participating libraries across the
state by presenting a current South Park Township/EIN library card.
