The Friends of South Park Township Library are delighted to announce the return of their much-loved Valentine's Day fundraising event, "Blind Date with a Book." Beginning Monday, January 5th, and running through Saturday, February 28th, this charming program invites readers of all ages to unwrap a surprise read while supporting an important community resource.
For a $10 donation, participants may select a wrapped, hard-bound book, each one a surprise "blind date." Every package includes several hints about its theme and genre on its wrapper, allowing readers to choose an intriguing match without knowing the title or author in advance. Carefully selected by the Friends, the books offer something for everyone, covering a wide range of interests from captivating adventures and inspiring stories to thought-provoking nonfiction. Whether you are a lifelong reader or simply enjoy a good book now and then, there is something sure to delight.
New this year, the Friends are excited to expand the event to include younger readers with a special "Play Date with a Book." Children's books will be available for a $1-$2 donation, making it easy for families to encourage a love of reading and include even the youngest library patrons in the fun.
Celebrate Valentine's season with this sweet and rewarding way to give back. Donations are cash or check only, and supplies are limited.
